Intel Processor Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 explained

Are you confused about the difference between Core 2 Duo and Core i3, i5, i7 processors in new laptops in current market? You don't know which one is better? You don't know which one you should go for? Well, here's our quick explanation: Intel Processor

Core 2 Duo is on the way out of market, it's being replaced by Core i3, i5, i7 processors
The higher the number in Core iX, the faster it is, which means Core i7 is faster than Core i5, Core i5 is faster than Core i3

But don't just assume that all Core i5 will be better than Core i3, the cheapest Core i5 might not be better than the best Core i3. Comparing the GHz figure will help you choose between these Core i3,5,7 processors as well.

In Windows, open Task Manager, click Performance, under CPU Usage History, a Core 2 Duo processor will show 2 windows, a Core i3 will show 4 windows. This tell you that there are 4 cores in Core i3 comparing 2 cores in Core 2 Duo processor.

So when you're looking for a new laptop, if you can afford, go for a Core i-3,5,7 processor.
